I've got a good idea, have one cracked server and another premium server so players could decide on which they would want to play on, such as cracked.coldnetwork.net or premium.coldnetwork.net and you could have announcements on each server saying, "Join our premium server using premium.coldnetwork.net" or "Join our cracked server using cracked.coldnetwork.net
Dick move But Its your Choice your Server Welp Nobodys gonna care for me That im not Coming Soooo Swear Profanitys At me Lads And Dont Remember Me We had Good Times
What would going premium mean for us players? Like, how would it have less cheaters, how will I be able to get on, why the number of players drop, etc. I'm worried there's going to be some complicated process, or there's information we're missing here. I'd love to see less cheaters, but I don't think it's worth whatever sacrifices that could be made to make this server "go premium" Will I have to pay to join? I overall just don't understand what going premium means, so I can't really decide if it'd be a good decision or not.
At the moment cold is a cracked server, which means people who haven't payed for a minecraft account can join though cracked launchers. The question is if we should make it premium, so only players who actually bought Minecraft can join. Unless you didn't buy mc you don't have to pay
There's going to be a small group of players who use cracked accounts simply because they can't purchase the game. (For whatever reason, broken Paypal, parents won't buy them a copy, just simply being low on money and wanting the experience) They will be eliminated because of the server being moved to Premium. It would rid a lot of hackers, but there are processes put into place that help get rid of them. (IP Banning, Screensharing and the anti-cheat plugin) For a simple way to just not worry about a lot of hackers, I don't think it's worth moving the server over to premium because you subsequently vent out the players who do deserve to come on here. I think we can come up with a better way to get the server to be taken more seriously and to keep the hacker count minimal. Why not have a spontaneous-SS community put into place? We don't need to separate or redo the server, just allow players to play like normally, screenshare them and from that point they can record for Youtube or Twitch under your name or a specialized tag because you've proven they're legit to their viewers when other servers haven't. Having that incentive to not-cheat to play on the server will automatically make players take your Youtubers more seriously than the Youtubers who haven't played on it. By default, players will follow the servers with the top-dogs because that's how they themselves can improve and potentially be in a video. We can SS players spontaneously, even after they volunteered so as to make sure they don't revert back to cheating once that is done. You can have a specialized team that does spontaneous-SS (potentially for rewards) so that administrators and other moderators can focus on the other aspects of running the server.
There is no way to bring the reputation of a cracked server more than to a certain point. personally I think we reached this point, and it's time to move on. No matter what systems we try to put into place, it will remain a cracked server, with more toxicity and cheaters.
