Perm ban is too harsh. Especially since it was a one off, not like he does this often.

 

Honestly, I don't think you should get banned. In my opinion, sharing IPs via PM should be allowed.

@Thrintios did this to me once WITH AN IP and got unbanned. This is way too harsh.

 

If you send an IP in global chat, Perm IP-ban would be suitable. If you send a private message to someone containing an IP I think it should be warnable and perhaps muteable. Perm IP-banning is too excessive.

 

To be honest, I think that it makes no difference how one delivers an IP of a server to someone else, at the end of the day it is advertising and it should remain a perm-ban. OP could've sent the IP somewhere else such as Discord DMs etc.
