Introduction In this thread, I'm gonna tell you what could be changed to the management of the staff team and what would improve the server IN MY OPINION. So please, don't tell me things like this: "You are just a player, you can't decide anything!", because it doesn't make sense. Then, I would like to get serious answers, and I would like to ask you what do you think of the thread, and how do you think ColdNetwork could be improved. 1° point: the ScreenSharing system of ColdNetwork Yes, it could be strange, but the first thing I want to talk about is this one. In my opinion, the SSing system of ColdNetwork has a lot of problems, and I'm gonna tell you what I mean. A. You can't use your strings that aren't proven to be cheats. - I always hated this rule because private methods exist. Imagine this situation: I am a known Italian screensharer and I am apart of a team that finds screensharing methods but I can't reveal my methods because they are private and only the SS team has to know it. Then I find a player that is 99% cheating, but I can't find anything bannable with the ColdNetwork Staff's methods, so what I would do is to search the cheats with my private methods. But the problem is that I can't use them because they have to be private and other staff members mustn't know it. So I have to let the player go even if I would have found the cheats with my methods. B. Being lazy (Only running an SS Tool and not doing other methods) - I don't understand this. If there is an SS tool that let me easily and automatically scan the computer of the player I'm screensharing, why wouldn't I use it? The screenshares would be faster, and I think it would be better because the staff has to do a lot of works (discord, forums, TeamSpeak, support, in-game rules breakers, etc). C. Purposely giving the person being screenshared private strings provided by the cold SS team - Ok, I don't understand it. If you have to screenshare a player, and ColdNetwork gives you strings and methods to screenshare a player, of course when you use the strings you automatically give them to the player because the player you are screensharing can see them. So this rule doesn't make sense unless there is a situation like this: "Hello, would you like to randomly have the strings provided by the ColdNetwork ScreenShare team?". 2° point: the AntiCheat system of ColdNetwork Yes, I'm gonna talk about the AntiCheat of ColdNetwork. I'm not gonna say that ColdNetwork has to change its AntiCheat, but I think it should be set. As you can see from the ban appeals, many people are getting banned because of the lag, but I think you can prevent this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I know that the server AntiCheat can be customized, and you can disable the auto-ban for many checks. By doing that, you wouldn't have any problems with checks like timer and bad packets. 3° point: the management of the ColdNetwork's staff A. If you fail 3 times the SS test while being Helper, you will get demoted. - Ok ok, I agree, the SSing is important, but a staff member doesn't only have to screenshare. There are many things that a staff member should do, like helping the players, administrating, managing situations and modalities, etc. At least, give the Helpers endless chances, that's what I mean. B. As Helper or Trial-Mod, you can remove a punishment, even if you are in Trial. I don't understand this too. If I am a Trial-Moderator, why can I unban people? I mean, you can handle appeals when you are Senior-Mod, so there is no point to give the Helpers the unmute and to give the Trial-Mods the unban. 4° point: the punishments system plugin of ColdNetwork A. When you get banned it looks like you are crashing, when you aren't crashing but you just got banned. - I think this is a problem with the plugin, but it still is a problem. Imagine this situation: I am a player and I'm gonna be screenshared but I'm refusing the SS, so the staff member is gonna ban me. When the staff member banned me, it looks like I'm crashing, and when I rejoin the server it says I'm banned. So I think that I crashed and that the staff member banned me for logging out whilst frozen and I'm gonna do an appeal where I say I just crashed. You wouldn't have many appeals like this by changing the plugin. B. When a staff member bans a player that is on another server, the player doesn't get banned, but he has to relog. - This happened many, many times: I remember that when I was a staff member, @Bramza reported a player on the forums for admitting to using unfair modifications like NetLimiter, and @49N accepted the report. The reported player was on the practice and 49N joined the lobby and banned him. But guess what? The player still didn't get banned, so I had to re-ban him. I think 49N can confirm. C. The server hasn't got a blacklist command or a blacklist database, so when there is a ban reset, every blacklisted player has to be re-banned for "Blacklisted". - This thing speaks itself, I don't think I have to explain this. Well, this is why I left ColdNetwork and what could be changed in my opinion. But now, I'd like to know what you think about it. Do you agree or not? Thank you for reading this.
